Team Captain

Thank you for being a Team Captain. Your role will be fun and rewarding and the next few paragraphs will outline the process you need to take step by step. Your leadership, encouragement and enthusiasm will have a very strong influence on the success of the participants in your team as they strive to achieve their goals and enjoy the program.

Encourage inactive employees to participate. The best health outcomes can be seen in those that move from no physical activity to even just a little physical activity. The Challenge should not be about active people becoming more active, but about raising physical activity awareness for EVERYONE!

The Steps

1. Meet with potential members for your team (recommended maximum of 10) and encourage them to join the 10,000 Steps Challenge.

2. Instruct team members to visit www.10000steps.org.au and register as an individual on-line as soon as they can.

3. Once all team members have completed their on-line registration, Captains are required to add the additional Team members. This process will allow your Team to automatically accumulate and monitor the teams progress

*Please note: Team Captains will need to be set up by their Workplace Coordinator before they can add the additional team members.

I found the program easy to promote and implement. I just asked people in my section and most people wanted to have a go and see how many steps they did each day.
