10,000 Steps Mackay Challenge
Since the 10,000 Steps Mackay project was launched in April 2005, two community challenges have been implemented, with over 700 people participating. There is currently no challenge running in Mackay.
Loan A Pedometer
10,000 Steps pedometers can be borrowed from any of the Mackay City Council libraries:

Pedometers may be borrowed for the standard loan period of four weeks. They may also be reserved, visit the Mackay Libraries website to reserve one today.
Walkway Signage
Mackay has three signed walkways, all 5000 Steps in total, located at Northview Park, the Gooseponds and the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens. The circuits were sponsored by Vassallo Constructions, Theiss and Souths League Club respectively.
Maps outlining these signed walkways can be found at Mackay Community Health Centre, the Mackay City Libraries and online. Visit the 10,00 Steps section of the Mackay City Council website to access the walkway maps online.
