Q is for Quiz

For those of you who have followed the A – Z of physical activity now is your chance to test your knowledge. Although we know that knowledge does not, by itself, change behaviour – if it did everyone would exercise regularly and no one would smoke – it does help to understand some of the elements of a healthy lifestyle.

So pull out your pen and paper and record your answers to the following questions. Go to the 10,000 Steps website www.10000steps.org.au, to find the answers.

  1. What is the name of the national initiative that currently promotes physical activity in Australia?
  2. Which of the following qualify as physical activity: walking to work; weighting training; gardening; swimming; climbing stairs?
  3. What is the minimum number of minutes-per-day of moderate intensity physical activity recommended for good health?
  4. How many steps-per-day are currently being promoted for improved health?
  5. What is the name of the instrument that counts the number of steps you take?

So there you have it. Go ahead and have a go. Best wishes and keep walking.
