Q is for Quiz
For those of you who have followed the A – Z of physical activity now is your chance to test your knowledge. Although we know that knowledge does not, by itself, change behaviour – if it did everyone would exercise regularly and no one would smoke – it does help to understand some of the elements of a healthy lifestyle.
So pull out your pen and paper and record your answers to the following questions. Go to the 10,000 Steps website www.10000steps.org.au, to find the answers.
- What is the name of the national initiative that currently promotes physical activity in Australia?
- Which of the following qualify as physical activity: walking to work; weighting training; gardening; swimming; climbing stairs?
- What is the minimum number of minutes-per-day of moderate intensity physical activity recommended for good health?
- How many steps-per-day are currently being promoted for improved health?
- What is the name of the instrument that counts the number of steps you take?
So there you have it. Go ahead and have a go. Best wishes and keep walking.
