The 10,000 Steps Working Papers is a series of brief reports explaining research conducted by 10,000 Steps.

Paper 1 - Awareness of the 10,000 Steps program across Queensland, 2005

Paper 1 examines Queensland residents’ awareness of the 10,000 Steps program and identifies the sub-groups of the Queensland population that are less likely to be aware of 10,000 Steps.

Paper 2 - Audit of 10,000 Steps Providers

Paper 2 details the findings of an audit in early 2006 of 10,000 Steps Providers. This study highlighted the Providers use of the 10,000 Steps programs and resources since the program rolled out nationally in 2004.

Paper 3 - Survey of current 10,000 Steps Step Log users

Paper 3 details the findings of a survey of 10,000 Steps online Step Log users. This study highlighted the efficiency and availability of the resources on the 10,000 Steps website for individuals and identified the characteristics of current Step Log users.

Paper 4 - Awareness of the 10,000 Steps program across Queensland, 2006

Paper 4 examines the 2006 awareness levels; determined if demographic variables were associated with awareness; and finally compared the levels of awareness between 2005 and 2006.

Paper 5 - Awareness of the 10,000 Steps program across Queensland, 2007

Paper 5 details the awareness of the 10,000 Steps program across Queensland. This study examined the 2007 awareness levels; determined if demographic variables were associated with awareness; and finally compared the levels of awareness between 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Paper 7 details the results of three focus groups conducted to determine the applicability of the 10,000 Steps workplace program in urban Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) workplaces.

Paper 8 examines the 2009 awareness levels, determined if demographic variables were associated with awareness; and finally compared the levels of awareness between 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Paper 9 examines the awareness of the 10,000 Steps program across Australia. This study examined the 2009 national awareness levels and determined if demographic variables were associated with awareness.

Paper 10 - 10,000 Steps in Primary Schools: Survey of Primary School Providers, 2010

Paper 10 details the findings of an online survey of 10,000 Steps Providers who may have implemented the 10,000 Steps program and/or its resources into a primary school environment.

Paper 11 - Pedometer Reliability, Validity and Feasibility Report, 2010

Paper 11 details the findings of the reliability, validity and feasibility of several pedometer models in comparison to current 10,000 Steps branded Yamax SW200 pedometer.

Paper 12 - 10,000 Steps in the Primary School Environment: A Pilot Study, 2010

Paper 12 assess the applicability of the 10,000 Steps Program and its resources in the primary school environment.

Paper 13 - Awareness of the 10,000 Steps program across Queensland 2010

Paper 13 examines the 2010 awareness levels, determined if demographic variables were associated with awareness; and finally compared the levels of awareness between 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
