Pedometers are inexpensive devices which can be used to track steps. To ensure the pedometer functions correctly, it must be clipped securely to your belt, pants or skirt just above the hip in line with your knee. The pedometer must remain vertical as it counts steps using a pendulum mechanism. Ensure that it is set to zero each morning and remember to take it off at night before bed. Record steps on paper, in a logbook electronically or directly into the 10,000 Steps smart phone application or website.
Safety straps can be purchased to ensure that pedometers do not fall off clothing accidentally. If you have any questions about 10,000 Steps branded pedometers, please contact Health Management Group on info@healthmg.com.au.
Wrist worn activity trackers or pedometers as well as pedometer smart phone applications can also be used to enter recorded steps manually into the Step Log.
