2025 Queensland Health Steps Challenge

Monday 4th August to Sunday 14th September 2025

Every step counts.

Supporting health workers to increase their awareness and levels of physical activity.

What is the Queensland Health Step Challenge (QHSC)?

Building on the success of the 2024 Challenge, 10,000 Steps has partnered with Health and Wellbeing Queensland to deliver another state-wide 10,000 Steps Challenge from Monday 4th August to Sunday 14th September 2025. 10,000 Steps is a successful initiative developed by CQUniversity and funded by the Queensland Government through Health and Wellbeing Queensland to support more people to increase their awareness and levels of physical activity.

This Challenge is a fun, engaging opportunity to support Queensland HHS’s and Health Agencies to increase staff connection and participation in physical activity to benefit physical and mental wellbeing.

How does the QHSC work?

To participate in the QHSC you will need to create a free account to access the 10,000 Steps platform on the web or the app on your apple or android device. If you already have an account, you will be able to use it to join the QHSC.

As soon as you have an account you can start logging your activity and sign up for a team in the QHSC for your activity to contribute. There is a Step by Step guide below.

None of your individual measures can be viewed by other participants. Only the totals of all participants are shown.

How do I participate?

Queensland Health recognises the different abilities of its diverse staff and encourages everyone to participate in the Challenge at a level that is appropriate for them.

Any form of activity you engage in, from walking or swimming to sports or lifting weights (and everything between), can contribute to your “steps” counted and help you and your team succeed. If you have any existing health conditions, please consult your GP.

Leaderboard

To encourage healthy competition between the participating institutions, the leaderboard will keep track of how many steps each team has accumulated so far.

This leaderboard will update each teams progress from the start of the QHSC on 4th August until the 14th September 2025.

Note: The average steps are calculated by dividing the total number of team steps / number of team members.
