2026 Queensland Health Steps Challenge
Monday 3rd August to Sunday 13th September
Leaderboard
To encourage healthy competition between the participating institutions, the leaderboard will keep track of how many steps each team has accumulated so far.
This leaderboard will update each teams progress from the start of the QHSC on 3rd August until the 13th September 2026.
Note: The average steps are calculated by dividing the total number of team steps / number of team members.

What is the Queensland Health Step Challenge (QHSC)?
Building on the success of previous challenges, 10,000 Steps has partnered with Health and Wellbeing Queensland to deliver a statewide Step Challenge from Monday 3 August to Sunday 13 September 2026. The QHSC encourages Queensland Hospital and Health Services and Health Agencies to boost staff connection and participation in physical activity, supporting both physical and mental wellbeing.
How does the QHSC work?
Participants create a free 10,000 Steps account via the website or mobile app (Apple or Android). Existing users can use their current account. Once registered, you can log activity and join a team so your steps count toward the Challenge.
Individual data remains private—only team and overall totals are displayed.
How to participate?
All staff are encouraged to take part at a level that suits their ability. Any activity counts, including walking, swimming, sport, or strength training, with minutes converted into steps. If you have a medical condition, please consult your GP.
Getting started
- Sign up or log into the 10,000 Steps website or app (use your work email if possible).
- Sync your activity tracker or manually enter steps or activity minutes.
- Optionally track health measures and set personal goals.
- Join your HHS Challenge Team below —your activity will then count toward the QHSC.
- If you are a part of a Tournament set up by your HHS or workplace, your steps will be automatically added to your QHSC team total.
If you would like to coordinate a Tournament for your HHS or workplace, please contact us.
